Amaral underground public car park – fire resistant basement extraction

Fire resistant basement extraction was installed at Amaral underground public car park, which was built in 2007 to help ease the heavy traffic created by the opening of several big casinos in Macau. Located between a number of popular resorts, Wynn, Grand Lisboa, Crown Casino and Galaxy Starworld, the underground car park can house hundreds of cars and may be populated by a large number of people at anyone time. Consequently, safety was of utmost importance to the authority and project consultant responsible for selecting the fire resistant basement extraction system.

A Flamebar BW11 system was chosen due to its excellent safety credentials as well as meeting the contractor’s tight budget. The ducting was pre-fabricated and fire-rated coating applied in the factory, eliminating tedious and messy works on site.
